Cream Of Mushroom Soup Substitute

Ingredients

2 tbsp butter
6 medium button mushrooms; cleaned, thinly sliced
3 tbsp flour
1/2 cup chicken broth; or beef broth
1/2 cup milk
salt; to taste
pepper; to taste

Directions

1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.

2, Saute mushrooms until cooked through.

3, Stir in flour, a little at a time, until a paste is formed. Remove from heat.

4. Add broth and milk, a little at a time, stirring to keep mixture smooth.

5. Return to the heat and bring sauce to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until sauce thickens.

6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
