Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup onion; finely diced
1 large egg
1/2 cup parmesan cheese; grated
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Directions
1. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Mix by hand until the meat mixture is smooth, but stop once the mixture looks even. (Over mixing can create a dense heavy texture.)
2. Divide the hamburger mixture into 4 to 6 patties depending on the size you want. Shape them just slightly larger than the buns you plan to use, to account for shrinkage during cooking. If you want, press a dent in the center of each patty so they don't puff up as they cook.
3. Preheat the grill or a skillet to medium heat.
4. Grill or fry the patties for 2 to 4 minutes per side depending on size and doneness you desire.
Stack the hot patties on hamburger buns, top with your favorite toppings
and serve warm.
